The old stories of ‘being eaten alive’ by mosquitoes in the Florida Keys are close to being a thing of the past.
Mosquito Control now uses a clear and odorless spray that sterilizes adult female mosquitoes and is harmless to humans and the environment. During mosquito season (warm months), trucks are driven on the streets during evening hours and release this spray. You simply call mosquito control when you notice mosquitoes in your neighborhood and they come out and spray the same night (if it is not too windy). This method has almost eradicated our mosquito problems of the past.
Occassionally, some areas still may have mosquito population issues. Many people have invested in a ‘Mosquito Magnet’ to insure their property is thoroughly protected from these annoying pests. I don’t have one myself (don’t need it), but I hear they work well.
